The Story

My first ever piece of furniture was a small desk top book shelf. I was 13 and this was the first assignment for the wood shop class. The teacher gave us free rein to design and build this book shelf. I was enthralled with the entire process, from designing, to scaled drawings and to fabrication. Only when I completed the build, did I realize that a crucial detail was completely incorrect.

However, that first experience did not deter me from design; it rather fostered my passion for it to this day. Having gone through architecture and interior design schools, I am fully influenced by modern design. My furniture pieces are distilled down to the essentials of structure and usage. Each has its own unique detail that may not be at first evident to the casual glance.

Working primarily with engineered wood products, such as plywood, parallel strand lumber, and laminated veneer lumber, I really appreciate the human ingenuity that invented these products to maximize the use of a renewable natural resource.

This is a work in progress web-site and many more images will be uploade in the coming days (created on 18dec2014)
